The paramount ruler of Ijesaland, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Adekunle Aromolaran, fits into a picture of  someone who knows when to create a balance. The monarch put up an amazing dance during the Iwude festival celebration held recently in Ilesa, Osun state.

As part of activities scheduled for the festival, the monarch who was recently appointed chairman of Osun state council of traditional rulers  embarked on a procession and received a colourful ovation from his people.

According to history, the royal procession gives every Ijesa man and woman opportunity to see the monarch.

Speaking with YESNAIJA.COM, Ayo Agbede, the loorunyin of Ilesa said the Iwude festival is a forum for all sons and daughters of Ijesaland to reunite.

”In the past, it is customary for the kind to see his people once in a year. Iwude festival is the rallying point for all Ijesa sons and daughters to pay homage to the king. It also affords all the obas and chiefs in Ijesaland to show their royalty to the paramount ruler,” Agbede explained.
