Tunde ADENIJI: Led the line for an outstanding Sunshine Stars selection, and will doubtless be a key man for the home-based Eagles at the upcoming Championship of African Nations.

Fanendo ADI: There aren’t too many Nigerians abroad who won their respective domestic league this season, but Adi managed it as Portland Timbers won Major League Soccer. 18 goals in 39 outings is a fine return.

Odion IGHALO: The goalscoring sensation outscored Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo earlier in the year, fired Watford to the Premier League, and has taken instantly to the EPL.

Obafemi MARTINS: The evergreen frontman contributed 15 goals and four assists in Major League Soccer, earning a recall to the national side in the process.

Ahmed MUSA: Named as Super Eagles skipper by Sunday Oliseh, the 23-year-old came seventh in the Russian top scoring charts last season, and is a rare ray of light for Nigerian participants in the Champions League.

Victor OSIMHEN: The record breaker. Osimhen stole the show for Nigeria at the U-17 World Cup, breaking Florent Sinama-Pongolle’s long-standing goalscoring record in the tournament.

Gbolahan SALAMI: An inspirational figure for the home-based Eagles, Salami also top scored in the NPFL, finding the net 17 times.

Moses SIMON: The Nigerian Messi won the Jupiler League title with Gent, before helping the Buffalos to the Last 16 of the Champions League—becoming the first Belgian side to reach the knockout stages.

Chinedu UDOJI: The Enyimba skipper not only won the Nigerian title with the People’s Elephant, he also earned an invitation to be part of Oliseh’s Super Eagles revolution.

Anthony UJAH: Averaged just under one goal every three league games for FC Koln last season, earning a move to Werder Bremen. He’s found the net seven times in 16 outings so far this term, firing himself into the Bundesliga’s top ten goalscorers so far this term.
