I want to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas wherever and whenever you’re celebrating it. I know there are people who are going to have a wonderful time in every sense - together with those they love, relishing being together and having time together. And there'll be others for whom the gathering is a struggle, and there’ll be others on their own, or in places of great suffering and trouble.
But what I remember is that to the shepherds on the hillside the angels came and said they had news of great joy that was peace for the earth. I pray that you will know that joy and that peace this Christmas and in the New Year.
